Buy, Sell, and Trade Policy

We're happy to provide you with all of the information you may need when it comes to buying, selling, or trading at Book Nook. We understand that you may have further questions when it comes to our policy, so feel free to contact us today with your concerns -- we're happy to help!

Policy Guidelines

We are happy to look at any merchandise that is in good condition. We do not usually buy in bulk, so we go through your items and choose what we need. We generally offer the following pricing, though this can fluctuate:

  • Books for Trade Credit

    We offer used book credit for your books. For those we are interested in, you would receive half of our selling price (A book we sell for $8 would earn $4 in credit). That credit is good toward half off our used book prices.


    EXAMPLE: If you pick out $30 in used books, we deduct $15 from your credit, and you pay the other $15 plus tax. We have a few specialty categories of credit for higher demand books: classics, science fiction, and graphic novels. These categories must be traded in to use your credit toward them.

  • Books for Cash

    Books Pricing: 10¢ - 25¢ for most | up to $1 for some.


For all items below, we offer 20% more in-store credit than we do cash:

  • DVDs and Blu-rays

    • 25¢ - 50¢ for most DVDs
    • 50¢ - $1 for most Blu-rays
    • $1 - $2 for most TV box sets
    • More for boutique label titles

  • CDs

    50¢ - $1 for most titles

  • Vinyl Records

    • 50¢ - $2 for most
    • More for higher demand titles

  • Comics

    • 5¢ - 10¢ for most
    • More for certain titles (up to 25% of what we would sell it for)

  • Board Games, Puzzles, and Card Games

    50¢ - $2 for most

  • Action Figures and Collectibles

    Prices vary based on condition and demand (up to 25% of what we sell for)

    Up - $1 for most titles
